In honor of Veterans Day, this Saturday is the annual flag planting at veteran gravesites at the Fairview Cemetery in West Hartford.  This event is put together each year by the Boy Scouts of America and American Legion Post 96.  This continues to be a well supported event for our RTC and we're inviting all of our newsletter subscribers to come join us.  It's an excellent opportunity for everyone to show their community and patriotic spirit by honoring those that served our great country through military service.

I would like everyone to make every effort to join us this Saturday.  Please be sure to bring your spouses, family and friends to join us.  I would like us to meet in the Fairview Cemetery in West Hartford no later than 7:30am ET.  I will have a table with coffee, juice, water and doughnuts for everyone so, we'll have plenty of energy for this event.

The entrance to the cemetery is at the end of Pleasant Street on Whitman Road across from Saint Peter Claver Church.  When you first enter the front entrance of the cemetery, follow the path to the left and you will see parking spaces with my car on the left side.  My car is a sliver Ford Edge SUV with the license plate, "MR DALY."  I'll have my white table out with the food and beverages.

For those of you that haven't done this before, it's really easy.  At 8:00am, you'll be given a map and section of the cemetery to serve, as well as, a pole planter and flags.  We can all pair off in teams and its just simply finding headstones with a military service mark on the stone.  You use the pole planter to make a hole in the ground at the head of the stone and plant the flag in the hole.  It would be great if everyone can give at least an hour of their time for this event.  For more information, click on the button below.  Also, see below for a photo collage of our recent Memorial Day flag planting event this past May.

It's supposed to be a beautiful day this Saturday morning.  Come out with us and enjoy the morning to honor our veterans.
