Greetings from Fantastic Man’s Amsterdam office where a major kitchen construction is in full swing (long overdue, we didn’t have a kitchen). We may share some pictures later. ■ What’s also going full speed ahead is the production of Fantastic Man 39, out in September. While it’s a tad early to share any of its contents, why not read our interview with LOVERBOY designer CHARLES JEFFREY from five years ago. It’s in our continuously expanding online library, and it’s a hoot. ■ Fun facts: CHARLES celebrated his 34th birthday yesterday (congratulations!) and he also just styled an amazing story for our next issue. On everybody’s favourite subject of summer, here’s the outcome of a little test for a good SPF face cream. ■ While too many products are sticky, smelly or leave a residue that, quite vexatiously, rubs off for the rest of the day, here’s one that bears none of these snags. ■ THE GREY’s Daily Face Protect is, from what I’ve experienced, perfect. It actually originates in The Netherlands, which is nice too.

More random shopping advice: how intriguing and fabulous are these bouncy, foamy slip-ons from FEAR OF GOD, the larger-than-large American fashion brand? This photo was taken two months ago in Milan, featuring four FoG staff members wearing what looks like ‘The California – Collection 8’ shoe that’s currently on offer, and it looks so gloriously weird...
