Longswamp, the final section of the Waikato Expressway, is about to get under way.
We have a sod-turning event planned for 14 October ahead of full construction starting on the $115 million project which will see four-laning of the existing 5.9km of highway between the Rangiriri and Mercer sections. It is scheduled to be finished in 2018.
This means by next month we will have four sections under construction – Longswamp, Rangiriri (finishing April 2016), Huntly and Hamilton (both finishing 2020).
