News from Rutherglen Visitor Information Centre

The Rutherglen Visitor Information Centre had a great Tastes of Rutherglen weekend. Even though our numbers through the door were slightly down from last year the feedback from visitors was excellent.

Taste of Art Show is on until Sunday 19 March. If you have not had a chance to get there, do yourselves a favoUr as the exhibition is excellent. Well done to all those who are involved.

Rutherglen Market was also well attended with new stall holders jumping on board. Congratulations to the Rutherglen Lions Club for working hard to re-invent the market.

IMPORTANT NEWS

Nadine and her team have assisted many businesses and event organisers to complete their website business listing on explorerutherglen.com.au (ATDW listing). Visit Victoria have recently advised they need a permission form to be signed for listings, where our team have created a listing on behalf of a business operator or event organiser. Nadine will shortly send out this permission form to those this applies to. If you receive a form it is essential you sign and return the form to keep your listing live.  Chat with Nadine if you have any queries.

Easter Hours – Do you know your Easter hours? RVIC will be doing an Easter Hours information sheet for the public again this year. Can businesses please let RVIC know their hours from Friday 7 through to Monday 10 April? Please email info@explorerutherglen.com.au

Have a wonderful weekend,

Rutherglen Visitor Information Centre Team

What's On

Congrats to Scion Wine

Scion's vineyards are now Sustainable Winegrowing Australia certified.

Sustainability underpins every decision Scion makes as vignerons, with a focus on biological management of its soil ecosystems and the use of solar power and rainwater to run the winery and cellar door. A Tesla charging station is available to cellar door visitors and a cluster of beehives enhances farm biodiversity.

Chiltern Visitor Information Centre Update

Chiltern had a huge long weekend with many visitors in town for Tastes of Rutherglen and enjoying a get-a-way to the North East. The market was extremely well attended, with several stall holders noting that it felt like one of the largest we've ever had. Shopkeepers on Conness Street also noticed an increase in visitation over the weekend. With the lovely weather we've been having we are hopeful visitation will continue in large numbers.

The information centre is on the lookout for more volunteers. If you have a spare couple of hours and would like to get involved, please reach out to Karin Berrysmith.

Chiltern Tourism Development Inc. has recently purchased a large screen to host film screenings. The screen is currently set up at the Senior Citizens Centre for matinee screenings.

Saturday 18 March is going to be another busy day in Chiltern. Pop into the Star Theatre for a screening of Strange Bedfellows. The Telegraph Hotel is also hosting open mic night - get your songs ready! For those history buffs the restoration done by Matt and Emma Williams at Wark Cottage can be viewed on Saturday from 10:00am - 12:30pm.

Have a great week,
Chiltern Visitor Information Centre team
