Waihoehoe Road upgrade project update |
9 January 2024 |
He pānui | Project newsletterThis issue provides information about geotechnical work at Drury Village planned for next week. |
||
Geotechnical investigationsFrom 7.00am to 6.00pm between Monday 15 January and Friday 19 January, we will be carrying out geotechnical investigation works in the car park area at Drury Village (232 Great South Road). The geotechnical investigations are necessary for us to understand the ground conditions to help with developing the designs for the Waihoehoe Road upgrade. We aim to minimise disruption where possible and finish earlier if we can. Drury Village businesses will be open as usual. What are the impacts for the community?
Will this work be noisy? This work does generate noise. You can expect noise above 70dB during the penetration test. People indoors will hear sharp noises once every 15 mins for the first two to three hours but this is not loud enough to damage hearing. What type of geotechnical work is this? Two types of work will be carried out to measure the strength and properties of the soil.
Work will be carried out within the red rectangle and yellow circle shown in the map below. |
