The highway to Akaroa is much-loved but it is also one of New Zealand's highest-risk roads

Thank you again for your feedback last year on the proposed speed limits.

We had planned to get back to you in the first part of 2022 with a decision, however we are unfortunately experiencing some unforeseen delays.

We are working to line up Waka Kotahi and Christchurch City Council legal processes to finalise our decision and we are experiencing contractor supply chain issues due to COVID-19, which is affecting programming.

At this stage we are hoping to let you know our decision around mid-May 2022.

In the meantime, we thank you for your on-going patience.
