The behaviour support function of the NDIS Commission provides leadership in behaviour support and the reduction of restrictive practices. This newsletter reflects our commitment to the professionalisation of the behaviour support sector. We welcome new providers and behaviour support practitioners from incoming states and territories. Transition Arrangements for Implementing Providers in ACT, NT, QLD, Tas & VicThere are specific arrangements for implementing providers in each state and territory, who are currently using regulated restrictive practices, to transition to the NDIS Commission. Click through to view the procedures relevant to you. New Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework (PBS Capability Framework) The PBS Capability Framework is now available. It reflects the diversity and variation of the sector's capability in delivering behaviour support. Assessment against the PBS Capability Framework will form the basis for determining suitability as an NDIS behaviour support practitioner. How to Lodge a Behaviour Support Plan The step-by-step process for lodging a behaviour support plan via the NDIS Commission Portal is explained in this handy user guide. Behaviour support plans can be submitted using the NDIS Commission templates, or you can use your own template. The first step is to request a PRODA account, which can take up to two business days. How to Submit Monthly Reports To simplify the process of monthly reporting on the use of regulated restrictive practices, implementing providers in the ACT, QLD and Vic can click the button below. Learn who needs to submit monthly reports, in what timeframe and find out about the procedures specific to your state or territory. Reminder to Complete the Notification of Behaviour Support Practitioners Form Specialist behaviour support providers are required to notify the NDIS Commission of their behaviour support practitioners. For providers in ACT, NT, QLD, Tas and Vic, this notification must be made by 31 July 2019. Reminder to Complete Section 28 Notification Are you an NDIS provider using regulated restrictive practices where there is no state or territory authorisation process, or where the practice is not contained in a behaviour support plan? If so, you must notify us of the regulated restrictive practice by 31 July 2019.
