Manawatū Gorge closure - changes to newsletter

Dear Subscriber,

For the past 5 months or so, we have produced weekly updates with the latest information on the impact of the Manawatū Gorge closure and the development of an alternative transport corridor linking Manawatū, Tararua District, Hawke’s Bay and northern Wairarapa.

The project team is busy completing its assessment of the four short listed options, as well as exploring the feasibility of options for a temporary bypass for Ashhurst and realignment options for Woodville.

Our work is at a stage where we will not have any substantive news to share on a regular basis.  We have therefore decided to produce updates as and when there is new information for you, rather than on a weekly basis.

We expect to produce the next update when we have identified our preferred option for the Manawatū Gorge alternative route, around mid-December.

In the meantime, we will continue to provide information on roadworks on the alternative routes, the Saddle Road and the Pahīatua Track, on our regional Facebook page www.facebook.com/nztacni/

If you have any questions or want to give us feedback, please drop us a line at manawatugorge@nzta.govt.nz and we will get back to you within 3 working days.

Yours sincerely,

Your NZ Transport Agency Project Team
