On 27 August, St John’s Lutheran Church was reopened, rededicated and blessed during a worship service led by Pastor James Leach, who described the occasion as a homecoming. Read more Our LCANZ bishops are calling the people of the church to set aside Sunday 8 October for a churchwide day of prayer focusing on the unity of the church. Installed by LCANZ Bishop Paul Smith, Bishop Andrew was elected unopposed at the district’s Convention of Synod in May. Read more Over the next three Sundays (10, 17 and 24 September), we hope the Season of Prayer will create ongoing, deepening prayer in our churches. Our praying precedes our going. Prayer is about being present in the presence of God, deepening our intimacy with the Father, listening to the Spirit, and walking with Jesus. As Paul writes in Colossians 4: ‘Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.’ Together as the LCANZ, let’s seek God’s presence in prayer. Lord, renew your church! The sender pretends to be the pastor or an office-bearer asking for assistance. The phone numbers of pastors and congregation leaders appear to be harvested from congregation websites. If you receive a suspicious message from your pastor or anyone else, do not respond. Call the sender directly to ascertain the legitimacy of the message.
