Carers Connect - Lynn's Story

“Hi, my name is Lynn. I completed the Carers Connect program and it saved me! It gave the purpose and direction I had lost in my caring role. I’m now in the job I’ve wanted for years, and my identity is Lynn the phlebotomist, who is also a carer”.

“I’m excited to go to work and haven’t felt this way in years. Thanks to Carers Connect I’ve started on this next chapter and couldn’t have done it without their support”.

- Lynn, Carers Connect participant.

Talking Space - Book Launch

Thank you to everyone who came along to the Talking Space book launch this month.

Authors Jayelan, Charlotte and Tara were joined by their carers and members of Cockburn Library. Together they reflected on what it is to be a person with disability, or 'diffability' as one author called it. They shared about how they have overcome adversity and found their place in the community

You can read their full stories and access the online version of their book, 'Talking Space' here.
