Early this month, LCA Daily Devotions reached a milestone worth celebrating when the total number of emails sent to subscribers reached 5 million! Ordained 2 Feb 1958 (Appila SA); served St Marks East Melbourne Vic (1958–1960), Grovedale Vic (1960–1969), Ringwood Vic (1969–1976), Hampstead SA (1976–1983), Southport Qld (1983–1990), Sydney NSW (1990–1999); retired 4 July 1999; died 2 Dec 2024 (Winston Hills NSW); funeral to be held at 11am Thurs 12 Dec 2024 (Lifeway Lutheran Church, Epping NSW – livestreamed here); mourned by wife Alicia, children Diane, Mark, Ruth, David and Naomi and their families
The four pathways to ordination in the LCANZ are explained in the new ‘Candidacy Pathways for the Office of the Public Ministry’ document released this month. Bishop Paul Smith said it had been produced to help members 'better understand the different pathways that have been established to provide pastors for the mission of God amongst us’. Read more

Grants of up to $100,000 will be made available in 2025 to go towards the maintenance and restoration of old Lutheran churches and buildings of historical and practical significance to the LCA, thanks to a bequest from the late LCA members Alf and Charlotte Stiller. Applications close on 31 January 2025. Read more

Reducing the amount of paper files at the LCANZ Churchwide Office has been a goal for some time, but with preparations underway for the move to the new Church House next year, that task has become more urgent.
