Date: 29 November 2021. D40/2021. Fuel availability and flight impactsThe coordination of fuel supply across the Indian Ocean Territories continues to be managed through commercial arrangements to support passenger and air freight services. Recent shipping delays and poor weather are having implications across a number of areas, including on aviation fuel delivery to Christmas Island (CI). This may result in temporary changes as needed to passenger and freight air services to the Indian Ocean Territories (IOT) over the coming days to manage the available aviation fuel stocks on CI. While we await the safe and secure offload of fuel from the sea freighter, dependent on favourable weather conditions, residents and visitors are encouraged to monitor notifications from commercial service providers in relation to passenger and freight services. Please note that adequate fuel supplies are available to support medical evacuation flights. All stakeholders are fully committed to achieving the best outcome under the current circumstances.
