Welcome to the last Life in Mind eNews for 2021.

This edition features our annual Connecting at Christmas round-up of mental health initiatives and resources to help people remain connected during the festive season.

Also featured is the latest news from the mental health and suicide prevention sector, including information and updates on the National Mental Health Commission’s launch of the National Lived Experience (Peer) Workforce Development Guidelines, the Indigenous Suicide Prevention Forum 2022, the LiFE Awards, and the LGBTIQ+ Health Australia Beyond Urgent strategy.

A new suite of resources have been developed for signatories of the National Communications Charter, including a new Action Guide, social tile, website badge, email signature and more. Access these via The Charter section on the Life in Mind website.

First insights from the National Study of Mental Health and Wellbeing, 2020-21

The Intergenerational Health and Mental Health Study IHMHS includes four national studies and will have approximately 60,000 Australians who will take part. Recently, the first insights from the National Study of Mental Health and Wellbeing 2020-21 were released.

Life in Mind, in partnership with AIHW to provide timely suicide data

As part of the National Suicide and Self-harm Monitoring project, the Life in Mind portal will provide timely, easily understood data on suspected suicide deaths, so that all, particularly those in the sector and related sectors, are better equipped to contribute to positive suicide prevention outcomes.
