Miller is in Israel this week (May 22-28) on a solidarity mission aimed at deepening Evangelical Christian understanding and support for Israel. In a statement in advance of the trip, Miller shared: “This week, I will lead a delegation of Christian communicators on a trip to Israel to deepen our understanding of the region’s current situation through firsthand briefings with government leaders, visits to key sites, and connections with the local community. “Christian media play an important role in informing the public in these troubling times. As media leaders, we must exercise integrity and exhibit moral clarity as we speak to challenging issues in a hostile, biased, and distorted media environment. “I look forward to gaining deeper insight, meeting with Israeli leaders, and expressing American Christians’ solidarity with Israel and our hope for peace in the region.” This NRB solidarity mission is a collaboration between NRB, Keep God's Land, Israel365, and the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast. Miller will be available for interview at the conclusion of the trip. To schedule an interview, please contact presscenter@nrb.org. NRB Comments on OpenAI Model Spec The increased role of emerging technology in industry, public, and private life poses significant ethical and practical questions that require thoughtful and prudent consideration from a Christian perspective. To that end, NRB recently submitted a recommendation aimed at maintaining guardrails against explicit content on the OpenAI platform. As part of the most recent Model Spec—a document that outlines the objectives, rules, and default behaviors for how the OpenAI model behaves—OpenAI solicited stakeholder feedback on a variety of policies. This included feedback on whether to maintain or suspend a rule that “the assistant should not serve content that's Not Safe For Work (NSFW),” defined as “content that would not be appropriate in a conversation in a professional setting, which may include erotica, extreme gore, slurs, and unsolicited profanity.” Read the recommendation NRB submitted at the link below. An English major with a focus on writing, her career aspirations leaned towards journalism, yet her decision to enlist was driven by a combination of economic necessity and personal patriotism. Beginning in 1991, she fulfilled the Army’s standard 8-year enlistment obligation. “I had student loans to pay off and the military offered a lot of benefits that I could use at the time,” Chumley said. “And I love my country, so it was a natural fit.” Member News• Billy Graham Statue Unveiled at U.S. Capitol, Inviting People to the Gospel 2024 NRB Convention Recordings Available on Sellfy through May 31Press “play” on your favorite Convention moments, absorb industry know-how, and be inspired all over again through HD recordings of plenary sessions, keynotes, forums, talks, and workshops from the 2024 NRB Convention.
