From COVID cases in Christchurch to the official cash rate going up for the first time in six years October had its share of unwelcome news. Hopefully, November will bring the more welcome news of the South reaching the 90% vaccinated target. In this newsletter we are going to cover:
Xero tips & tricks Over the next eight weeks our resident Xero expert, Courtney Adams, will be sharing some of her tips and tricks live on Facebook. Each session will focus on a different topic and run for from 5 to 10 minutes (plus Q&A). Check out the topic and dates below:
Life with COVID In the South, it is easy to overlook the impact of COVID in our day-to-day lives, as we have adapted to our new normal. Looking at the picture below, we can see the significant impact COVID has made on the building industry. This impact is not just limited to the building industry however, it touches on all businesses. How we live and operate our businesses will continue to change as a result of COVID. Because of that continuing change, you should take the time to review both your budgets and the operational plans of your business to ensure they are responding to the current environment. There is still Government support available for businesses, through both the Resurgence Support Payment and Wage Subsidies schemes. If you need help with these please do not hesitate to contact us on covid19@ph.co.nz.

Net Promotor Score (NPS) Every quarter we run a Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey to find out how satisfied you (our clients) are with the service we provide. We have received great feedback from you and have gained a better picture as to where we stand, what we do well, and more importantly, the areas we need to improve so we can deliver the best service possible to you. In our last survey, our NPS was a very pleasing 49. Given the NPS for the financial service and professional service industries are 11 and 14 respectively, we were especially happy with our result. But... we want to do better! So next time you see the survey request in your inbox, please take the time to complete it and provide us feedback on how we can deliver excellence to you. Alternatively, you can simply email your feedback to info@ph.co.nz at any time. Thank you for your continued support. Humdrum in Hawkdun... Never! Last month some of the more intrepid members of the team went on a hunting trip and spent two nights at the Soldier's Hilton Hut on the Hawkdun Range. Whilst the hunting was not overly successful (nothing at all in fact) the trip was far from humdrum with plenty of 4WDing, “unsuccessful” hunting, adventuring, visiting a quartz mine and a swing bridge used for mustering, as well as plenty of laughs, good food and good people. Many thanks to one of our very generous clients who provided the accommodation and an incredible roast meal on the Saturday night. Club Cash Boost In September, Brad Suddaby presented the first of our $1,000 Club Cash Boosts to the Otago Squash Racquets Club. Chris Gillman Gable, club president, advised “The club is going to use the $1,000 cash boost to purchase a new camera that will allow live streaming. It will be great, the club will be able to take the game far beyond the four walls of the squash court.” Registrations are still open for October and November, so if you know of a local sports club that would benefit from a $1,000 Cash Boost, please nominate them TODAY!
