Thank you, In January 2023 we launched the Virtual Ward for patients across North Yorkshire. Virtual Wards deliver care at home for patients who would otherwise have to be treated in hospital, by enabling earlier supported discharge and providing alternatives to admission where this is safe. Over the last year the multi-disciplinary team have made huge progress in this provision of healthcare. View the 'Virtual Frailty Ward One Year On from Commencing the Service' infographic. A new team has launched in the CAMHS Eating Disorders service to provide alternative to admission support for children and young people with eating disorders. The team has been developed to work closely with Community Eating Disorder Services (CEDS) to identify those at risk of requiring admission as early as possible. Where identified as being at risk, the EDITT will provide a preventative package of enhanced support for an initial period of up to six weeks, with the flexibility to extend if agreed and deemed clinically appropriate. Lisa Weldrick, Team Leader of the Hull and East Riding CAMHS Eating Disorder Team, comments on the new prevision: "This is a really positive investment...we will now be able to deliver an even more comprehensive and responsive community eating disorder pathway for young people and families within our area." The service is being provided throughout Hull and East Riding with limited support to the North East Lincolnshire region. The EDITT began supporting patients mid December 2023 and is scheduled to become a seven-day service in the coming weeks. We are delighted to share that Stephanie Atkinson from our Hull 0-19 team was recently recognised as the BBC Sports Personality "Unsung Hero" for East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and last month she attended the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards ceremony in London. But in her personal life she is a volunteer coach at Little Victories Cerebral Palsy and Frame Football Club (LVFC) based in Barton-Upon-Humber. The club is volunteer-led and provides sporting opportunities for children diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy within the Lincolnshire, Hull and East Yorkshire area. It was for this outstanding work that she won the ‘Unsung Hero’ award. Your perfect job could be waiting for you. Friends and Family Test The Friends and Family Test (FFT) is an important feedback tool that supports the fundamental principle that people who use NHS services should have the opportunity to provide feedback on their experience. It provides a mechanism to highlight patient experience and is vital in transforming NHS services, supporting patient choice and implementing changes based on your feedback. Each month we will be sharing patient experiences from our different services, alongside a patient comment. 96.7% of respondents had a positive experience of Mental Health Unplanned Care.
