emergency road closure

Kia ora,

The Remutaka Hill Road will be closed from midnight tonight, Wednesday 9 October and is scheduled to reopen by 5.30am tomorrow morning, Thursday 10 October to recover a crashed truck.

A crane and heavy vehicle tow truck will be on the road during the recovery of the truck which crashed on the Upper Hutt side of the road on Tuesday night.

There will not be any access to Remutaka Hill Road while the recovery operation is underway so road users are advised to plan ahead.

There may be times when vehicles can be escorted over Remukata Hill Road or when stop/go traffic control can be used to enable vehicles to get through. Traffic supervisors at the closure points will able to advise road users.
