Sock ‘n’ Buskin Theatre Company Presents: Rumors from Feb. 6-9Carleton’s student-run theatre company, Sock ‘n’ Buskin, presents Rumors. It’s May 1984, and Deputy Mayor of New York City Charley Brock and his wife, Myra, are having their 10th wedding anniversary party. However, everything goes awry when the guests arrive to find Charley unconscious and Myra nowhere to be found. Hilarity ensues as the guests try to protect Charley’s reputation and keep his condition a secret until they can figure out just what went wrong. Grammar FoundationsThe Centre for Student Academic Support (CSAS) is offering Grammar Foundations, a self-paced, online program to help you improve your grammar for academic writing. The Carleton community can access the program through the CSAS Online Resources Brightspace page. The lessons cover key grammar points used in academic writing; strategies for making your writing more varied and engaging; tips for building your academic vocabulary (e.g., Academic Word Lists, Academic Phrasebanks) and interactive exercises to practice grammar in academic writing situations Participants will need to adjust the grammar choices they employ based on the specific writing style requirements of their respective academic disciplines.
