Celebrating Black History Month
In 1995, Canada’s House of Commons officially recognized February as Black History Month. During Black History Month, people in Canada celebrate the many achievements and contributions of Black people and their communities. Members of the Carleton community mark this month annually in a variety of ways.
Click here to see events, stories and resources.  While Black History Month is an important moment to mark annually, Carleton recognizes that Black inclusion must be an everyday, year-round priority.

Canadian Graduate and Professional Student Survey: Please Tell Us About Your Graduate Experience!
On Jan. 28, master's and doctoral students who were registered in both the fall and winter term received an individual email to participate in an online survey, which will be open until Feb. 24. Your responses are vital to help us make meaningful observations, conclusions and recommendations. Please use your individual link from that email to participate. More details are listed in the next section including three $100 cash prizes that could be won!

Multi-Factor Authentication: Please Enrol ASAP
To enhance the security of the Carleton University community, graduate students must enrol in Microsoft multi-factor authentication (MFA). All graduate students have been sent a prompt to set up MFA when they attempt to log into Microsoft 365 services using their MyCarletonOne password. If you have not yet accessed your cMail or Microsoft services, you should do so as soon as possible. If you do not enrol in MFA, your account access will be disabled to protect the university’s IT system security starting on, or after, Feb. 24. You will need to contact the ITS Service Desk to regain access.

Canadian Graduate and Professional Student Survey: Please Tell Us About Your Graduate Experience!

In February, Carleton University is participating in the Canadian Graduate and Professional Student Survey (CGPSS) along with other Ontario universities that have graduate programs.

On Jan. 28, master's and doctoral students who were registered in both the fall and winter term received an individual email to participate in this online survey, which will be open until Feb. 24.

Three $100 cash prizes will be awarded (deposited to the winning students’ accounts). The prizes will be drawn randomly from respondents who provide their email at the end of the survey to qualify for the draw.

Why is it important for you to fill out the CGPSS?

  • Carleton takes student feedback and survey results very seriously; so this is your opportunity to share your experience.
  • Collecting this information will assist Graduate Studies in identifying important matters to further enhance our services for graduate students.
  • We will be able to compare Carleton results to those of other institutions to determine how we are doing in relation to our counterparts.

With a large number of students providing feedback, we will have sufficient information to further improve the graduate student experience. Your responses are vital to allow us to make meaningful observations, conclusions and recommendations.

If you have any questions about the CGPSS and other surveys in which Carleton participates, please contact Carleton's Office of Institutional Research and Planning at surveys@carleton.ca.
