Learning recovery to acceleration: A global update on country efforts to improve learning and reduce inequalities 

World Bank

This report takes stock of what countries have done so far to recover and accelerate learning since reopening schools, and what we have learned from their experience. It follows the RAPID Framework for Learning Recovery and Acceleration.

 

What next? Enhancing African students' transition to employment through effective career services. 

Education Sub-Sahara Africa 

This report presents the findings of a study that aims to produce an in-depth understanding of how universities and colleges in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) can strengthen their career services outcomes and enhance students’ employability. It adopts a broad perspective, focusing on students, faculty members, career services personnel, alumni, CEOs, and human resource (HR) managers.

 

Building better formal TVET systems - principles and practice in low- and middle-income countries 

World Bank

The report brings together global knowledge on TVET reform to develop a joint understanding of the main challenges and the lessons learned from TVET reforms, including the experience gained during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on this understanding, the report offers a joint way forward towards better TVET and can be the basis for more impactful and coordinated support of TVET systems in the future. With TVET playing a central role in preparing learners for the changing world of work, the report’s call for transforming TVET is very timely.

 

Empowering youth for the future of work: Addressing challenges and enabling opportunities 

British Youth Council and YMCA England & Wales 

This report discusses the importance of meaningful work experience for all young people. Work experience has the potential to ignite a young person’s passion for an industry that will carry them through their entire career; it has the potential to introduce young people to mentors who will support them for years to come; it has the potential to dispel myths about professions that young people from disadvantaged backgrounds deselect themselves from; it has the potential to integrate youth voice into companies; and it has the potential to even the playing field between young people.
