Covid requirements for healthcare premises

Dear

Re: Updated Covid-19 guidance for healthcare premises

I am writing to provide an update about requirements for healthcare providers in Victoria. New pandemic orders came into effect at 11:59pm Friday, 22 April 2022 and this update is intended to ensure you are aware of all current requirements.

The attached document provides a detailed overview of all current requirements under the Pandemic (Workplace) Order 2022 (No. 8) and the Pandemic (Public Safety) Order 2022. While the new pandemic orders replace those that have applied to audiology businesses, the requirements for healthcare providers have not changed significantly so it is likely that you already have the necessary processes in place.

Under the new pandemic orders, audiology businesses must:

  1. Ensure employees adhere to face covering requirements when working at a work premises.
  2. Have in place a CovidSafe Plan, which addresses the health and safety issues arising from COVID-19, and document and evidence implementation of the COVIDSafe Plan.
  3. Display signage alerting the public to the need to wear a face covering when entering a work premises.
  4. Respond to a symptomatic employee or a confirmed case in the workplace.
  5. Maintain records about employee vaccination status, including booster vaccination status.

For further information about each of these requirements, please refer to the attached document.

Please stay safe and if there’s anything we can do to assist you during this time, please don’t hesitate to contact the office on 03 9940 3900 or email info@audiology.asn.au.

Yours sincerely,

Elissa Campbell
