Kia ora koutouA big thank you to those who were able to attend our recent community information sessions. We hosted 5 sessions in 4 different locations from Westgate to Grey Lynn and had detailed conversations with around 150 people. During the sessions we shared the indicative designs, artist impressions and information regarding the application that has been lodged with the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) for the necessary statutory approvals. All of the information is available on the project website here and Fast-track website here. |

Next stepsLike the Northern Busway, the Northwest Busway will be delivered in stages as funding becomes available. The project has funding to obtain the necessary statutory approvals, design development, site investigations, detailed design and construction of Brigham Creek station and park and ride, and some targeted property acquisition. A key priority for this year will be working through the statutory approvals process with the EPA and the recently appointed independent expert panel. We anticipate the panel will invite comments from late April. Under the Fast-track Approval Act 2024, comments can only be lodged by invited parties, who are generally limited to those parties listed in the Act. The project consenting pathway diagram, which sets out the process under the Fast-track Approvals process, has been updated to reflect the timelines set by the panel convenor. The updated diagram is available on the project webpage here. |
