Shape the future: Have your say on the Territory Coordinator Bill

The Territory Coordinator Bill is open for consultation, and we’re calling on all Territorians to provide their feedback.

The Office of Territory Coordinator has been created to drive economic growth in the Northern Territory and accelerate private sector jobs, and opportunities for all Territorians.

Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro said: “We’ve released the draft Bill and an accompanying guide, and we’re now seeking your input to ensure the settings of the Bill are what is needed to deliver economic growth for the betterment of Territorians."

“The Territory Coordinator’s role is all about being outcome-focused— maximising opportunities to streamline and coordinate processes," she said.

The Territory Coordinator will:

1. Coordinate significant projects, making it easier for investors to bring big ideas to life.

2. Streamline approvals across government, removing roadblocks to economic growth.

3. Ensure that the NT remains competitive in attracting and securing significant projects.

Steve Margetic, Chairman at Darwin Major Business Group and Managing Director at Sitzler, said: "The establishment of the Territory Coordinator is a transformative step for the Northern Territory’s economic landscape."

“This role will not only improve the Territory’s competitiveness on the national and international stage but should also contribute directly to job creation, economic growth, and sustainable development," said Mr Margetic.

"Darwin Major Business Group members see this initiative as a key enabler for large-scale projects that drive investment and opportunity across the Territory."
