Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident or Family Member,

COVID-19 Update for residents & families of Calvary Kingston Gardens

Further to our last communication, through the testing regime at the Home we have identified an additional resident and an additional staff member who have tested positive for COVID-19; this brings the total at Calvary Kingston Gardens to thirteen (13), including eleven (11) staff and two (2) residents who have tested positive to COVID-19.

Following testing conducted yesterday, 10 January 2022, all results for residents have returned negative.

The Local Public Health Unit has advised that restrictions on residents in all areas, except Blossom Unit, will be lifted today, 11 January 2022.

The next round of resident testing for the Blossom Unit will occur on Friday 14 January, in line with local Public Health Unit advice. Given the ongoing high demand for community testing, we are not able confirm a timeframe for when we will receive results.

As all test results come to hand, we will continue to liaise closely with the local Public Health Unit regarding the next steps, and communicate with you as soon as possible.

Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, or who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the Manager of your Home to discuss arrangements.

What happens now?

Calvary will update you again as soon as any information becomes available.

As a precaution, our staff will continue to closely monitor all residents for symptoms of COVID-19. We thank residents and families for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time. You can help us by sharing this information with your family and friends.

Thank you again for your continued understanding at this time.

Sincerely,

Sharon MartindaleGeneral Manager Aged Care
