DWF Foundation Grants 

The DWF Foundation (also referred to as the Foundation) is an independent charity, founded by DWF. It has the sole aim of providing funds, resources and mentoring support to help individuals, groups and communities to achieve their full potential.

The DWF Foundation supports registered charities with an impact in one or more of the following areas:

  • Homelessness
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Employability
  • Education
  • Environment and Sustainability

Deadline: Tuesday 31st October

Morrisons Foundation Grants 

The Morrisons Foundation supports registered charities making a positive difference in local communities across England, Scotland, and Wales.

Grants are available for up to £10,000 for capital spend or direct project delivery.

The Morrisons Foundation prioritises applications from small charities, those with an income of less than £1m, but applications from larger charities are welcome.

Freelands Foundation Fund

The Freelands Foundation’s Autumn 2023 Fund awards grants of between £50,000 and £150,000 per year for up to three years to visual arts organisations with bold and innovative programmes that build collaborative relationships between schools and visual art organisations through projects that centre teachers within creative approaches to art education.

Expressions of interest accepted between: Monday 11th September – Monday 20th November 2023

Grants For Good

Grants for Good is funded by the John Good Group and is designed to direct funding only to small and growing local charities, voluntary groups or social enterprises that are making a big impact on communities, people or the environment. To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a local community group, charity, voluntary group or social enterprise that has a positive impact on communities, people or the environment.
  • Have an average income of less than £50,000 in the last 12 months.
  • Have a bank account in the organisation’s name.

Rescheduled Event: Burnt Oak Community Fun Day 

Don't miss the Burnt Oak Community Fun Day, on Wednesday 27th September from 12 noon to 6pm on Barnfield Road, between Watling Avenue and Silkstream Road. 

There will be free activities for children and young people, including Dr Bike sessions, play sculptures, crafts workshops, BMX & scooter workshops, and more. There's something for everyone to enjoy.

Silver Sunday 

Join Age UK for a fun-filled day of activities and advice for the over 50s at Middlesex University, The Boroughs, NW4 4BT. There'll be exercise tasters, music and dance performance, talks and workshops, advice on managing money and health checks. Includes a talk from Professor Catherine Loveday on Love and Connection. Free entry and free light lunch and refreshments throughout the day!

Free Parent Therapy Groups

icandance offers creative, therapeutic support to families with disabled children.

Their FREE parent therapy group sessions offer a reflective, confidential space to share experiences of parenting a disabled child. The sessions aim to improve wellbeing, explore creative responses to challenges and gain a deeper understanding of your child's needs. Sessions are facilitated by experienced psychotherapists.
Sessions for parents of primary school aged children are at 10 - 11:15am on the following dates:

  • 3rd October 2023 (in person)
  • 7th November 2023 (online)
  • 5th December 2023 (online)
  • 16th January 2024 (online)
  • 20th February 2024 (online)
  • 19th March 2024 (in person)

Black Literary Festival

Barnet Libraries are celebrating Black writing and showcasing the work of Black authors with the first Barnet Black Literary Festival! Authors will be discussing their books and writing followed by book signings. All sessions are free and in-person. Booking essential.

World Mental Health Day Event

Hub Connections in partnership with Meridian Wellbeing are hosting an event to mark World Mental Health Day. The theme this year is 'Make Mental Health a Universal Human Right'.

Come along for inspiring talks from a variety of speakers, wellbeing activities, and valuable mental wellbeing advice. The event includes a light lunch and refreshments.

FREE Upshot Demo Sessions 

Upshot helps organisations, who make a difference, become more insight-led. Using a MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning) approach, they provide an easy-to-use online system for funders and delivers of all sizes to monitor, evaluate and learn from their data.

Barnet Together, with funding from the council, are excited to be able to offer eligible members the opportunity to use the Upshot platform for FREE for one year and at a reduced cost of £200 + VAT for the second year (following that, members will be offered a further one year at a discounted rate, before transferring to a full price Upshot membership in year 4).

Barnet Together is calling for community, voluntary, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) groups as well as statutory organisations and businesses operating in the borough of Barnet, to sign up to the Barnet Voluntary Sector Manifesto.

The aim of the Manifesto is to create better understanding and deeper cross-sector collaboration between organisations working within Barnet. 

If you are a representative of a group, service provider or business based in or serving Barnet, then you can sign up to the Barnet Voluntary Manifesto.

Barnet Together is a partnership established in 2018 between Young Barnet Foundation, Volunteering Barnet and Inclusion Barnet. Barnet Together is a free capacity building support service for the borough’s Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector. It supports local VCFSEs with funding, training, resources and advice, and offers a platform for stronger sector representation, voice and connection. Barnet Together services are available to all members of Young Barnet Foundation, Volunteering Barnet and Inclusion Barnet, with each partner organisation bringing their own specialisms, knowledge and assets.
