COVID-19 Update for Residents and Families: Positive cases identified at Calvary Henley Manor

I am writing to inform you that unfortunately four (4) additional residents have tested positive for COVID-19 at Calvary Henley Manor since our last communication to you. All positive residents reside on the Ground Floor and are currently isolating and receiving care in their rooms.

In line with Public Health Unit advice, residents on the First Floor are now able to leave their rooms and move around freely, but must stay on their floor. Residents on the Ground Floor remain in isolation at this time.

Our testing regime continues on Monday 2 May, and we will advise you of the results once we receive them.

Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care, allows visits for residents in all circumstances, including when a home is experiencing an outbreak and is in lockdown. There are, however, specific requirements to help keep our residents, their visitors and our staff as safe as possible. Please see below:

Information for visitors during an outbreak

• One fully vaccinated visitor (Partner in Care), per resident, per day, will be permitted entry to the home.
• Visitation hours will be 11.00am to 6.00pm daily, with last entry to the home at 4.30pm. This is to ensure all screening processes can be effectively completed prior to entry.
• We kindly ask that you book your visit with us for now. To make a booking, please contact 9622 3606 during business hours Monday to Friday.
• All visitors will be supplied with the appropriate PPE (including face masks and shields as appropriate) to wear whilst visiting. Staff assist you with donning (putting on) and doffing (removing) PPE correctly.

• Visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home. This takes time, and we ask for your patience as we manage this important screening process.
• Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the home manager to discuss arrangements.

Visiting First Floor

• Anyone visiting residents on the first floor must travel directly via the elevators after completing the appropriate screening requirements. Extra cleaning protocols are in place to keep visitors as safe as possible.

We will continue to liaise closely with Public Health Unit officials, who will make the decision about whether and when it is safe to remove the current visitation restrictions. We will keep you updated as information becomes available. We anticipate our next communication to you will be early next week.
