Partnering at the Intersection of Equity, Education, and Health

We are thrilled to welcome Deborah L. Birx, M.D., former White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, as our keynote speaker. Dr. Birx is a world renowned medical expert and early champion of masking indoors, testing widely, and ensuring we do everything we can to keep our students safe and in school.

The event will be held Nov. 15-16, 2022, at the JW Marriott Chicago, 151 West Adams Street, Chicago, IL 60603.

The event is being coordinated by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Brown University School of Public Health and is made possible by funding from The Rockefeller Foundation. 

After 29 months in pandemic response mode, we’re ready to reflect back and look ahead! Join us for a two-day symposium in Chicago to connect with colleagues from across the country and reflect on our pandemic response successes and lessons learned. Join state, local, tribal, and territorial public health and education leaders, researchers, and federal government partners, to discuss what we did, what we learned, what we’re doing now, and what we can do to prepare for future public health crises.

The event will be live-streamed and recorded for those not able to attend in person. We also will publish a book to document how partnerships at the intersection of equity, education, and health are the backbone of resilient, student-centered, and community-supported schools, especially in times of crisis.
