Welcome to 2023 and Happy Lunar New Year

2022 was a positive year for Gencoa and the wider vacuum market overall. Whilst the demand for some consumer products dropped and supply chain disruptions still had an impact, other technology sectors have seen healthy growth and smarter devices are in demand. Sensors and energy-related products are on the rise again as electrifying the world whilst preserving the ecosystem will dominate this decade.

At the SVC in Long Beach in Spring 2022, Dr Paddy McCarthy gave a presentation in the Innovators Showcase to highlight the advantages of Full-Face Erosion sputtering. Was this the catalyst that drove demand? We'd like to think so! The product range has become hugely popular and is the stand-out performer for the year.

Here's a link to what has since become a much-requested presentation: Process Benefits of a 'Clean' Sputter Target by Dynamic Plasma Movement on Circular Planar Magnetrons

In addition to this week's event in USA, Gencoa have confirmed attendances at a series of exhibitions and conferences for 2023, continuing with two events in Dresden during March.

Gencoa Business Development Manager Dr Erik Cox will present at the HIP Seminar on March 8. The presentation is scheduled at 10.00-10.30 during session 3, and will cover the topic of Optimisation of degassing HIP canisters by use of remote plasma optical emission spectroscopy

Later in the month, the focus switches to atomic layer deposition, with Gencoa exhibiting and presenting at ALD for Industry. The two-day event will include a talk by Dr Joseph Brindley on In-situ gas monitoring of ALD processes using remote optical emissions spectroscopy, scheduled for 16:50 on Tuesday March 21.

Washington DC is the host city for SVC TechCon 2023, where a team of experts will travel from Gencoa for the one of the vacuum industry's leading events. Webinar: Women in SVC

Gencoa's Dr Nessima Kaabeche is among the presenters for a webinar being hosted on March 8 by “Women in SVC”, a committee of the Society of Vacuum Coaters (SVC).

Formed in September 2022, the vision of the group is to provide a platform for women in the society to support each other and excel in the industry. The group aims to raise awareness of women in the industry, and encourage, engage, and provide mentorship to the female students of the SVC Foundation and the women of the SVC Young Members Group.

The webinar is scheduled for March 8, 9:00 PST/12:00 EST/17:00 GMT. For more information, visit the Women in SVC LinkedIn group
