GET READY TO LIGHT UP THE TOWN AS BURNLEY BELIEVES RETURNS

The most magical day of the year is back!

Burnley Believes returns next week bringing festive fun, family entertainment and Christmas sparkle to the heart of the town, all leading up to a spectacular Lantern Parade and the Christmas Lights Switch On!

Get ready for a day full of FREE activities, live music, local performers and festive surprises around every corner. 

Here's what's in store on Saturday 15th November 2025...

Festive Markets & Family Fun
9am - 4pm | Burnley Market
Kick off your day at the Makers, Bakers & Creators Gift Market, packed with handmade gifts, crafts, and delicious festive treats from local traders.

Free Christmas Crazy Golf & Games
11am - 3pm | Curzon Street & St James’s Street
Tee off on the festive crazy golf course, then join Burnley FC in the Community for fun and games including Elf Snowballs, Christmas Conehole and Reindeer Hoopla.

Family Trail, Fun Fair & Face Painting
11am - 4pm
Pick up a trail map from the Discover Burnley gazebo and complete the Free Family Trail for your chance to win a £50 gift card. Don’t forget to stop for free face painting and meet the walkabout performers spreading Christmas cheer.

The Fun Fair will keep the excitement going until 6pm.

Main Stage Magic
12pm - 5pm | St James’s Street
Hosted by Radio Burnley’s Lee and Phil, the main stage will be packed with performances from local talent, including:

  • Local Vocal Choir

  • Next Level Dance, Dynamic Dance Studio and Basically Cheer

  • Burnley Youth Theatre presenting Oliver Twist

  • Ballet Education performing Snowflakes from The Nutcracker

  • AWOL Circus Arts juggling act

  • Rodeo Duo line dance performance

  • St John’s C of E Primary School Choir

  • A special Christmas finale from pop sensation, Channy

The Magical Lantern Parade & Christmas Lights Switch-On
4pm - Parade sets off | 5pm - Lights Switch-On
As the sun sets, Burnley will glow with colour as the Magical Lantern Parade winds through the town, led by the dynamic Batala Lancaster drummers.

Then, join the crowd for the spectacular Christmas Lights Switch-On, complete with snow cannons and festive cheer to mark the start of the season.

The Crooners Christmas Special at Burnley Mechanics

Superbly original, hilariously festive and bursting with Christmas cheer, The Crooners Christmas is the ultimate comedy music show coming to Burnley this month, and its the perfect way to start the festive season!

Meet the Hilarious Christmas Cracker Duo in Burnley

Get ready to laugh out loud as the Christmas Cracker Duo make their way to Charter Walk Shopping Centre.

These colourful, cheeky, funny characters will be spreading festive joy through the town centre from 11am - 4pm on 15th November 2025 in celebration of Burnley Believes Christmas Lights Switch On.

Festive Fun at Gawthorpe Hall this Month

Get into the festive spirit at Gawthorpe Hall this November. Create your own Festive Wreath at a hands-on workshop on 20th November 2025  (1.30pm - 4pm), using greenery from the Hall’s gardens and enjoying mince pies and refreshments in the cosy Servant’s Hall. £15 per person, booking required.

Then, step back in time for A Victorian Christmas on 29th & 30th November (11am - 3.30pm). Explore beautifully decorated rooms, enjoy live music, children’s crafts, and meet Father Christmas. Admission: £7 adults, children free.

The Snowy Day at Burnley Youth Theatre

Discover a world blanketed in wonder in this brand-new dance adaptation of The Snowy Day, inspired by the award winning picture book by Ezra Jack Keats.

Join Peter as he crunches through the snowy streets of his New York neighbourhood, in this intimate icy adventure.

Brought to life by Polka Theatre and Can’t Sit Still, the award nominated company behind ‘Oh No, George!’, ‘The Snowy Day’ is specially designed for 1-4 year olds and their grown-ups, featuring one dancer, original music and an immersive, enchanting set.

Keep Protected this Month with Flu & COVID Vaccinations

On 14th & 21st November 2025 from 10am - 4pm, a Mobile Health & Wellbeing Hub is on the move and will be making its way to St James's Street, offering Flu and COVID vaccinations.
