Hi everyone, Michael and Nana here! NSO is less than two weeks away so we hope you're all #NSOexcited! Read all the information below for important updates on shifts and other tasks!

 

PHINS INFORMATION

 

Penn Reading Project Discussion Leaders

Interested in leading a discussion on this years PRP book, Cathy O'Neil's Weapons of Math Destruction? Be a discussion leader!

We will provide you with a physical or e-copy of the book, a study guide, and a link to the faculty prep session to review. As compensation for leading a discussion, you will be able to attend the faculty discussion leader reception and you will have ONE shift removed from your requirement!

PRP Discussion Groups will take place at 3:30pm on Friday, August 23. 

If you are interested, sign up by Sunday, August 11 at 9pm EST at the link below and state whether you are a PHINS or PHINS coordinator in the comments. Questions can be directed to Lyndsi Burcham at lburcham@sas.upenn.edu

Move-In

Move-In Day for all PHINS and PHINS Coordinators is Sunday, August 18. Please ignore the move-in day listed on Campus Express as it is not accurate. 

 

Shift Sign-Up

ALL PHINS ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN UP FOR A MINIMUM OF 10 SHIFTS 

Specific Populations PHINS (FGLI, International, Transfer, and Exchange)
Shift sign-up for specific population PHINS will open on Sunday, August 11 at 5pm EST. 

Domestic PHINS 
Shift sign-up for domestic PHINS will open on Monday, August 12 at 5pm EST.

Mandatory Training Reminder

All PHINS are expected to attend a mandatory training session at 11am on Monday,  August 19. This session will provide a general and brief overview of the events that will occur during the week of NSO as well as any additional information that you will need to know.

 PHINS Coordinator Obligations

Welcome Meeting & Dinner
PHINS Coordinators are expected to meet in Houston Hall at 7pm on Sunday, August 18. Dinner will be provided. If you are unable to attend, you must contact Michael or Nana to schedule a make up the session with the NSO Coordinators. 

Training Setup
PHINS Coordinators also expected to meet at Stouffer Commons at 9am on Monday, August 19 prior to PHINS training. Questions can be directed to provost-nso-ai@pobox.upenn.edu.
