Due to the recent stormy weather, it is necessary for us to make emergency closures of State Highway 2 over the Remutaka Hill for storm recovery work on Tuesday night 14 June and Wednesday night 15 June.
These closures will enable teams to clear debris, slips and drains to make the road safe for travellers.
Motorists are advised to arrange their travel outside the closure hours. The road will be closed from 9pm to 4am with four escorted crossings available each night. Trucks will be able to cross during these times as well as light vehicles. There is no need to book.
10.30pm: Hutt to Featherston
11.30pm: Featherston to Hutt
12.30am: Hutt to Featherston
1.30am: Featherston to Hutt
Access will remain available for 'flashing light' emergency vehicles at all times throughout the closures.
