2018 Crab Fest Lives Lighter

Healthway in partnership with the City of Mandurah encouraged people to eat brighter at the 2018 Crab Fest. Focusing on increasing the consumption of colourful fruit and vegetables, attendees could sample healthy food, pick up recipes, try free fitness classes and get moving on the smoothie bike! Using film to butt out smoking

While overall smoking rates in WA are at an all-time low, research suggests that approximately 80% of people in the East Pilbara smoke. To encourage them to quit, local kids have teamed up with filmmakers to develop a series of short films. Watch a preview of this Healthway funded project here.

Bringing arts to the regions

Healthway and Country Arts WA deliver 'Shows on the Go', which brings performing arts to remote and regional communities. The Act-Belong-Commit health message is promoted through the shows to assist people to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Find out about shows touring near you.

Footy fans fitness opportunity

Aussie-FIT is a new, free health and fitness program designed for men that is scientifically informed and unlike any other program in WA. Researchers are currently recruiting men aged between 35 and 65 with a BMI of 28 or more to participate. Find out more.

Education video launched

Healthway has worked with the Cancer Council to help develop a new education video for Aboriginal health professionals to improve awareness and understanding of cancer among Aboriginal people. Watch a preview of the video here.

 

Science on Swan Conference

Healthway is proud to support the Science on the Swan Conference this year. This annual health and medical science conference will be held on 1-3 May 2018. The conference will cover the development and progression of chronic disease and mental health conditions across the life course and much more. Register here.
