Every year we conduct a business climate survey to find out more about the businesses that operate in our city. We are again reaching out to our community, to find out what has changed, what opportunities and challenges there are and how we can support you.

Your feedback will influence the service, programs and activities we deliver to our business community and inform the content of our 2026-2027 Business Plan and the implementation of our Economic Development Strategy 2022-2026 and begin the process to update our strategy later in 2026.

GO Henley supports local economy

Henley Beach came alive as the City proudly hosted the Santos Tour Down Under for the first time, welcoming thousands of residents, visitors and cycling fans to the foreshore. The GO Henley event created a vibrant festival atmosphere with family-friendly activities, pop-up dining and local business offers, with an estimated 25,000 people visiting Henley Square throughout the morning.

We extend a big thank you to our local business community for embracing the event and helping bring the precinct to life, alongside Council staff and delivery partners. GO Henley was also supported by the State and Federal Governments’ Algal Bloom Summer Plan, funded through the South Australian Tourism Commission’s Algal Bloom Event Support Fund.

Woodville North Employment Precinct: Business Engagement Underway

The City of Charles Sturt is commencing targeted engagement with businesses and landowners in the Woodville North Employment Precinct to support revitalisation, regeneration and future employment growth.

The project will build Council’s understanding of current and future employment land uses, infrastructure capacity and the local business mix, while identifying development constraints, investment opportunities and support needs.

Engagement will also focus on workforce needs and connections to initiatives such as the Western Adelaide Jobs Expo and Workforce Australia Local Jobs Adelaide North, reinforcing Council’s commitment to strong local employment precincts and long-term economic growth.

Woodville Town Hall New Partnership

Western Adelaide Jobs Expo 2026 - Exhibitor Expressions of Interest Close 2 February

The Western Adelaide Jobs Expo returns on Wednesday 25 March 2026 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, connecting employers, training providers and jobseekers. Delivered in partnership with the Cities of Charles Sturt, Port Adelaide Enfield and West Torrens, and Local Jobs Program – Adelaide North, the Expo regularly attracts 2,000+ attendees and 100+ exhibitors.

Mayfield expansion to drive $30m growth

Mayfield Group Holdings has acquired 10,410sqm of land in Royal Park, supporting a $30 million expansion of its electrical infrastructure operations. The project will strengthen capacity across data centres, renewable energy and defence sectors.
