BUSINESS INSIGHTS SURVEY 2025

More than 800 local business people shared their challenges and priorities in the annual survey. Find out what matters most to your peers and how they're adapting, investing and preparing for the next 12 months. 

END-OF-FINANCIAL-YEAR BUSINESS BREAKFAST

Council hosted an End-of-Financial-Year Business Breakfast in June, featuring experts who shared advice on tax changes and financial strategies, to help local business people to start the new financial year with confidence.  

NATIONAL WIN FOR PROGRAM EXCELLENCE

Our AI Adoption Program won the Excellence in Strategic Thinking award at the 2025 Economic Development Australia Awards by empowering more than 700 local businesses to embrace innovation confidently.

FEDERATION UNIVERSITY
PARTNERSHIP

Council signed a two-year MoU with Federation University to strengthen education-to-employment pathways, address regional skills gaps and drive economic growth. 

YOUTH CAREER AND INDUSTRY FORUM

The Forum provided disadvantaged youth with access to experts, connections with training providers and experience with speed interviews.  Opening the door to creating real job opportunities and clear pathways to achieve them.

LIGHTS CONTEST

Council's Christmas Lights Contest features a category for local businesses to show their sparkle. Entries close Monday 15 December. 

2025/26 WORKSAFE GRANTS FOR MANUFACTURERS

Worksafe Victoria offers annual funding to support initiatives that improve health and safety outcomes in the manufacturing industry. The grants offer up to $300,000 for three-year projects.
