Motueka road works

Changes to the roundabout at the High Street, Old Wharf Road and King Edward Street intersection are progressing well. Thank you for your patience as we complete these works.

We will be paving the new raised pedestrian crossings and reinstating the line marking for the roundabout from 15 November.

Surfacing work will commence on the 15 November. Between 15 November to 1 December, night works will be occurring every Sunday – Thursday between the hours of 6.30pm to 5 am.

Schedule of night-time (6.30 pm-5 am only) road closures during this period are:

  • Old Wharf Road – closed 15 – 20 November
  • King Edward Street – closed 20 – 25 November

Please note King Edward Street is currently closed 24hrs/day and this will remain in place until Friday 25 November. High Street will be open under stop/go traffic management during the night and open as usual during the daytime.

Access for people walking on the footpaths and across the road near the intersection will be maintained with gates setup to keep people separated from the construction site. Clear signage will be in place directing people walking across the road, so please follow the signs to keep everyone safe.

During both the changes to the High St, Old Wharf Rd, and King Edward Street roundabout and the reseal work at the High St and Tudor St, businesses in these areas are open.
