No images? Click here Hello! It certainly feels like Spring has sprung and we’re excited for the warmer months ahead and the opportunity to catch-up with our lovely supporters. Last month, we celebrated a landmark moment as we hosted the first face-to-face event for bereaved families since the pandemic began. It was a poignant day for the parents, grandparents and siblings who attended, with a host of outdoor activities in our woodland grounds, and time and space for personal reflection. Thanks to your help our care team is busy planning events for the year ahead and developing our services to continue supporting families. You can read all about our care development work, hear from 13 year-old Jake who attends our siblings’ days, and catch-up on all our news in the latest edition of our jam-packed newsletter, Footprints. We hope you enjoy seeing the difference you’re making to local families. Give the gift of care this Easter The support we receive from our community makes a huge difference to the children, young people and families we support. The generosity of people, especially at times of celebration such as Easter never ceases to amaze us. Sadly, when it comes to Easter eggs, many of the children using our services are unable to eat them as some are unable to swallow or digest solid food, so they celebrate Easter in different ways. We’d be (hugely!) grateful if, instead of chocolate, you’d consider donating the money instead – a little donation makes a real difference. You may even think about setting up a regular donation. By giving £5 a month you will help make every moment count for a family in your local area. Teenager joins Pier to Pier walk in memory of best friend Fifteen year-old Marcus Amps-Woodward has signed up to take on our 32-mile Pier to Pier challenge in memory of his best friend Rebekah. Rebekah died in 2016 aged just 10 years-old – her family was supported by EACH during her life. Marcus turns 16 on the day of the walk and says he’ll “be thinking of her all the way.” Read Marcus’s full story here. Meet Julie – our EACH chef When families arrive at our door they can be exhausted both emotionally and physically. Looking after the whole family doesn’t just mean expert medical care, it can be something as simple as a homecooked meal to lighten the load just a little bit. Our EACH Chef at Milton Julie tells us it ‘feels amazing’ to be able help families by giving them some comfort when they need it most. |
