Dear ,

Our meeting this past February was unbelievable.  In addition to having 21 of our 31 members attend our meeting, we had over 20 guests attend.  Many of the guests were interested in joining our RTC and there were a few registered Democrats who attended and were interested in changing parties!!!!  Something great is happening in our town and in our state.  You can feel the energy!

We added a new member to our RTC (welcome Getch Dires).  Getch is an immigrant from Ethiopia who left a socialist dictatorship in his home country and wants to be more involved in fighting for personal and family freedoms here in West Hartford.  In addition, I've already received 4 new applications this month from guests who attended our February meeting, to join our RTC.

The excitement stems from the lack of transparency and ultra-progressive movements by the Democratic party in West Hartford, especially as it pertains to things going on with the Board of Education.  Couple that with the fact that the Democrats refuse to listen to the people in this town and you have a recipe for some angry voters in West Hartford who want to work with our party to take action.

Committees are being formed, strategies are being developed and actions are being taken.  Please be sure to click the button below to see some bullet points concerning gender identity curriculum that is part of the Social and Emotional Learning Program (SEL) being pushed down on very young West Hartford students, in many cases, without parental knowledge or consent.  The bullet points outline actions you can take, which include sending an email to our Board of Education that outlines the issues.

If you attend our RTC meeting this Monday, you'll also hear about what we've learned concerning the DESSA evaluations that West Hartford teachers are being forced to complete on young students.  If the student does not achieve a certain score, the school psychologist becomes involved, in many cases, without the knowledge or consent of the parent.

Can you blame people for wanting to become more involved?  If you saw the Board of Education meeting this past week, the Democrats on the Board of Education certainly tried to insult and blame parents for radical action and prevent them from learning more about what their children are being taught in school and how they are evaluated.  This was in response when our Republican Board of Education representative, Dr. Gayle Harris, made a motion to allow for public comment about this curriculum.

If that wasn't enough...did you know the Democrats on the Board of Education are proposing a 2.8% increase in the school budget for this year?  Get ready for your property taxes to go up...AGAIN.

It is in that spirit, you are cordially invited to attend our West Hartford Republican Town Committee meeting for March.  The meeting will be held this Monday, March 21, at 7pm ET.

Please click on the buttons below to see the latest agenda for our meeting along with our meeting minutes from our February meeting.

If you plan to attend, please click on the button below to let our Secretary know that you plan to attend our meeting.  It's important that you RSVP as we like to have a head count because we bring in dessert and beverages for our attendees to our meeting.

If you have any questions or if you need additional information, please feel free to email me at chair@whgop.org or call our WeHa RTC office at 860-840-7430.

Sincerely,

Shawn Daly
