Waihoehoe Road upgrade

Project update

30 October 2025

Project newsletter | He pānui

We are pleased to bring you this Waihoehoe Road upgrade project newsletter.  This issue includes an update on upcoming construction works and information about the next community information day on Saturday 29 November.

Construction update | Mahi hangatanga

Our crew will be out from 3 November to start work on-site for the Waihoehoe Road upgrade. This includes clearing and setting up site facilities at 18 Waihoehoe Road (outlined above), bringing in a crane, protecting and relocating underground services, and shifting overground services and streetlights on Tui Street.

Later in November, we will start earthworks on the eastern side of the rail corridor to build access for bridge construction.

In December, we will set up the rest of the Tui Street site with working platforms, and you will see multiple piling cranes arriving on both sides of the rail line ahead of the piling works for the new bridge, which will begin in January 2026.

Parking will be limited along Tui Street while set-up and construction are underway, but you will still be able to access community facilities, the Drury Hall, Library, and Rugby club.

Drury Village shops | Nga toa kia Drury

Just a reminder that the shops at 232 Great South Road are able to continue trading through until 31 December 2025, unless they decide to finish earlier.
