Welcome to the latest edition of the Macedon Ranges Kids eNews

Autumn is a busy time in the shire for kids! This issue we're showcasing fun competitions and events during the Autumn Festival and the Changemakers Festival. We're also highlighting some important information for kindergartens and school, plus free services for families.

The Autumn Festival is back for 2026!

This year, there is even more for the family to enjoy! Kids painting classes, pie trails and Autumn Community Picnic, at the Kyneton Botanic Gardens on Sunday 19 April 2026.

Do you have a 2 year old who turns 3 before 30 April 2027?

Macedon Ranges Shire Council manages registrations for 15 kindergartens in the region.

You can register today (or before 31 May) to receive a first round offer!

Our kindergarten doors are opening this month!

It's National Playgroup Week next week (16-22 March)

Playgroups offer opportunities for babies and pre-schoolers to socialise and develop new skills while their parents/guardians have opportunities to build friendships with other families within the community.

There are over 60+ events to check out, ranging from nature journalling, bike swaps and bike maintenance workshops, to sharing secondhand gems at the Reworn Market.

Active Kids Sports — Mondays in New Gisborne

Active Kids Sports provides an engaging and fun class for preschoolers to learn and practice different sports.

Learn ball skills, play games and develop the correct techniques to enjoy sports.

Mondays 10am, ages 3-5yrs at the Macedon Ranges Sports Precinct, New Gisborne.

Time to start thinking about immunisations

Our immunisation sessions are held each month on the first Thursday in Gisborne, Kyneton and Woodend and on the third Tuesday in Riddells Creek and Romsey.

Immunisations are FREE for children aged 0-4. Book today!

Is your little one struggling with sleep?

Council's Maternal and Child Health service provides FREE universal support for child up to 5 years old.

But did you know your maternal and child health nurse can provide additional support with sleep, breastfeeding and play.
