Important Updates on MOC Fees & ABVP Membership Structure

We want to inform you of two important updates regarding Maintenance of Certification (MOC) fees and ABVP membership structure, effective for the 2025 calendar year.

MOC Fees – What You Need to Know
Diplomates submitting MOC materials in 2025 (submission deadline: July 15, 2025) will be charged the current MOC fee upon submission through the Prolydian system. However, in alignment with our new fee structure, this fee will be fully refunded shortly after submission. Please note that software updates to accommodate this change are still in development. We appreciate your patience during this transition.

Changes to Renewal Fees and Membership Structure
Beginning with the 2025 renewal cycle, invoices will list two separate fees:

  • Certification Fee ($395) – Required to maintain board certification and eligibility for certification-related committee service.

  • Membership Fee ($25) – Optional, but provides full member benefits such as access to ABVP listservs, CE discounts (including the ABVP Symposium), and eligibility to serve on governance committees. Importantly, it also waives the $750 MOC fee at your 10-year cycle.

Diplomates may choose to maintain certification without membership. However, only members will receive the benefits listed above and the MOC waiver.

Want to Decline Membership? Contact the Executive Director to request a refund of the membership portion of your invoice after this summer's dues cycle commences.

For questions or further assistance, please reach out to the ABVP office.

Honoring AAPI Heritage Month with the AAVMP

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month—a
time to recognize and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, and contributions
of AAPI communities. In the veterinary field, the Association of Asian Veterinary Medical Professionals (AAVMP) stands at the forefront of this celebration. Over the years, the AAVMP has hosted a series of webinars and events during AAPI Heritage Month, covering topics such as Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, work-life balance, and intersectionality in the profession. These resources are available for viewing on their website and YouTube channel (and the first talk for 2025 can be found below).

As we observe AAPI Heritage Month, we encourage everyone to explore the AAVMP's offerings and support their ongoing efforts to foster diversity and inclusion within veterinary medicine. Learn more and get involved at www.aavmp.org, and keep updated via social media on (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn).
