Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident and Family Members,

COVID-19 Update for Residents and Families of Calvary Ryde

Further to our last communication, I am very pleased to inform you that no additional
residents have tested positive for COVID-19 at Calvary Ryde in the latest round of testing.

In line with Public Health Unit advice, as at midnight tonight, the outbreak at Calvary Ryde can be declared over. Level 1 residents will be de-isolated from their rooms and may move freely about their environment.

Visitation under non-outbreak conditions can now recommence from tomorrow 22 February 2022, consistent with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care.

Updated information for visitors during an outbreak

  • Visiting hours are between 11.00am and 6.00pm, with last entry permitted at 4.30pm. This is to ensure all screening processes can be completed by our day staff.
  • There is no limit to the number of visitors allowed per resident, per day.
  • Visitors will be required to complete screening requirements prior to entry and wear appropriate PPE (including face mask and shield) whilst visiting. PPE is provided by Calvary.
  • As a precaution to keeping residents safe, visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home. This takes time, and we ask for your
  • patience as we manage this important screening process.
  • If you have any questions please speak with the home manager.

As always, visitation exceptions can be made for residents receiving end of life care and for compassionate visits. Please contact the home manager to make arrangements.

We will continue to monitor residents closely for symptoms of COVID-19.

We are very grateful to our residents and families for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time, and very much look forward to receiving visitors back into the home.

Sincerely,

Amanda Bennett,

General Manager Aged Care Sydney
