ANZA Soccer - Saturday Sessions Will Resume this Saturday, 27 November!Dear ANZA Soccer Parents, We are delighted that as of today, the groups-of-five rule is again in effect for sports. Therefore, we are resuming our Saturday sessions for all age groups under the previous rules and conditions. Our remaining Saturday sessions for 2021 will take place according to our usual Saturday schedule on 27 November, 4 December, and 11 December. Weekday trainings will continue as usual through Thursday, 9 December, with players returning to groupings of 4 or 5. This is (hopefully!) our final letter of 2021. Please read on for details about upcoming sessions, dates, and plans for 2022. For reminders about session protocols, how to sign up for trainings, etc., see the information at the bottom of this message. For those families leaving Singapore, we thank you for supporting ANZA Soccer and wish you well in your next adventures. Vaccinations and ANZA Soccer As all our sessions are outdoors, participants currently do not need to be vaccinated and will not be asked their vaccination status upon entry to The Cage Sports Park. However, going forward we expect the government to move to a vaccine-differentiated approach for larger-group sports events (like 5v5, 8v8, or 11v11 games). Therefore, we encourage all children to be vaccinated as soon as they are eligible so they can continue to join in all ANZA Soccer activities as the government’s rules evolve. Mid-Season Break and 2022 First Day Please note that there will be NO ANZA Soccer sessions (weekday trainings or Saturdays) from 12 December, 2021 to 14 January, 2022. ANZA Soccer will resume on Saturday, 15 January, 2022, conditions permitting. See the full calendar here. If your school or community will welcome new families in early 2022, please do spread the word about ANZA Soccer and encourage anyone interested to contact the office to arrange a trial in January! Making Up Postponed 2021 Sessions in 2022 We plan to make up the 2021 Saturday sessions that were postponed due to government restrictions with additional sessions later in the season. Once the Committee and The Cage have agreed on the additional session details in early 2022, we will publish a revised calendar. Communicate with Your Coach or AGCs With the holidays approaching, communication with your child’s AGC and/or team coach is especially important. Please let them know promptly whether your child will attend each remaining Saturday, so they can create small groups and assign coaches accordingly. Parent coaches, if you will be unavailable, please make sure you let your AGC know as this may affect planning for your team or age group. If you are leaving Singapore, please be sure to let your AGC know. Step Up to Help Coach All parents are encouraged to volunteer to take the place of those who may be unavailable in the next few weeks, so all our players can enjoy their remaining sessions. As always, sessions can only run if enough volunteer coaches and safe-management officers are available. Thank you for your patience and support during what has been an unusual and at times frustrating season so far. We are hopeful that 2022 will bring more soccer opportunities and enjoyment for all our players and families! With best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season, Reminders and Helpful Information:
