Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident and Family Members,

RE: COVID-19 UPDATE – Today's update for residents & families of Calvary St Joseph’s Retirement Community

A further round of testing of all St Joseph’s residents has been completed and we now need to await the results. Given the continuing high demand for community testing, we do not anticipate that we will receive the results for a few days.

In the meantime, Calvary St Joseph’s remains closed for general visitation. Exemptions will be made for special visits for residents receiving end of life care, so please talk to the home manager Helen or care staff to make specific arrangements, and please do not hesitate to reach out if you wish to book a video call with your loved one via our WebEx video call service.

We understand that this may be a frustrating and challenging time for our residents and families, and we thank you again for your continued understanding. The residents are well and are being cared for in their rooms.

As results come to hand, we will continue to liaise closely with Hunter New England Public Health Unit officials, who will make the decision about whether and when it is safe to re-open Calvary St Joseph’s or lift the current restrictions on residents’ movement.

We will update you again as soon as any information is available.

Sincerely,
