Now here is a challenge! 

Earnest Shackleton a long time ago advertised the following for one of his trips to Antarctica ;

Men wanted for hazardous journey to the South Pole. Small wages, bitter cold, long months of complete darkness, constant danger. Safe return doubtful.

And men flocked to join him on an adventure!

Why?  Because God designed us for adventure and to fight battles.  Our battles look a little different these days as they are less the physical battle and more a battle of culture, moral issues and spiritual exchanges. 

We still need adventure today and this is especially true for our young men,  This Bugle is about a call to that adventure in the form of NLDC.

I recently attended the National Canterbury CANT 140 camp at Waipara and had the opportunity to speak to a number of young men about NLDC.  When they heard more details about how they will be challenged and grow through the experience, the majority wanted to sign up.

If you have young men in your company or unit who would benefit from NLDC, I would ask that you please encourage them to register NOW!

The logistics of managing the course are substantial, so we would appreciate confirming our numbers for July as soon as possible.  It also allows for securing the best prices on air tickets to get to Nelson if needed, and there is a subsidy available to help get boys to the course.

Please encourage them now so they can take advantage of the early bird discounts!!

Now more than ever we need a strong movement of Men who adhere to the Objective of BB which is as relevant today as it was 140 years ago.  NLDC plays an integral part of building young men into great adults.
