New data hub enables you to take control of your own data

The NSW Spatial Data Submission Hub is a new, optimised platform designed to support the streamlined delivery of spatial data, placing data custodians (local government councils and other government agencies) in full control of their data and metadata.

With a user-friendly interface and built-in quality assurance, the hub simplifies how spatial data is ingested and shared.

While we expect a gradual uptake from our users, we encourage early engagement to help your agency get familiar with the platform and its benefits.

The introduction of the NSW Spatial Data Submission Hub is a key milestone in ensuring data custodians have more control of their agency’s data through this secure, easy-to-use and reliable platform.

Levelling data preserved through cross-border collaboration

A successful collaboration between Spatial Services’ surveyors and the ACT Office of the Surveyor-General has led to the integration of 67 kilometres of historic ACT Rural Bench Mark levelling data into the NSW Survey Control Information Management System (SCIMS).

Originally recorded in the mid-1970s by the Department of the Interior, this valuable dataset played a key role in early planning for potential expansion of the ACT northward toward Yass and Goulburn.

The quality of the original survey work was exceptional. First Order marks were constructed using deep-driven rods and concrete witness posts, while Third Order marks featured star pickets with brass collars demonstrating the precision and care of the era’s surveyors.

This integration not only preserves an important piece of geodetic history but also strengthens the foundation of modern spatial infrastructure.

What’s been added?

  • Gunning to Collector: 29 km of LA levelling, 26 marks
  • Collector to Tarago: 38 km of LC levelling, 48 marks

All Survey Control Information Management System data is available via the NSW Spatial Collaboration Portal.

NSW Point Version 2: time to transition to the next generation

It’s time to transition to NSW Point Version 3, the next-generation address validation application, available exclusively to NSW Government agencies.

NSW Point Version 2 will be officially decommissioned on 30 September 2026, with all remaining API keys permanently disabled. From now until 30 November 2025, new V2 API keys will only be issued in exceptional cases with supporting justification.

Built on scalable, secure infrastructure, version 3 is designed to support long-term service delivery with enhanced reliability.

NSW Point V3 retains all the core functionality you rely on, and introduces expanded services including coordinate, cadastral parcel, and property validation. Developed with agency feedback, version 3 offers a more intuitive experience and improved performance.
