Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents & Families

Dear Resident & Family Members,

Latest update for residents and families of Calvary Nazareth

I am pleased to inform you that the latest round of COVID-19 testing for residents of Calvary Nazareth was completed today and that all of the tested residents returned negative results.

There have been no further cases identified and the total number of positive cases in the current outbreak remains at five (5), four residents and one staff member.

The testing is in line with advice from the Hunter New England Public Health Unit and we are liaising closely with them regarding the next steps, the ongoing testing regime and when it might be safe to lift the current restrictions on residents’ movement or re-open the home.

In the meantime, all of our residents continue to be cared for in their rooms. Our staff are in direct contact with the families of the four COVID-positive residents and are keeping them informed.

Calvary Nazareth remains closed to general visitation, except for end of life and compassionate visits. Please talk with the home manager to make specific arrangements.

Please know that we are doing everything possible to continue to look after the health and wellbeing of all our residents while keeping them safe during this difficult time. Please contact the home if you wish to book a video call with your loved one via our video call service or if you have any concerns.

You can help us to ease anxiety and the workload on staff by sharing this information with your family and friends.

We anticipate our next update to residents and families will be later this week, unless there are any changes that need to be communicated before then.

Thank you for your ongoing understanding and continued support.

Sincerely,

Bryan McLoughlin
