Participants are welcome to attend any of the sessions. Registration is not required to attend a session.
FPGA Student EDI Research AwardThe Faculty of Public and Global Affairs (FPGA) Student EDI Research Award celebrates outstanding student projects that advance equity, diversity, and inclusion in research. Open to all eligible undergraduate and graduate students in the Faculty of Public and Global Affairs, the award highlights work that promotes inclusive knowledge and practice. Funded Summer Research Visits in JapanThe Japan Society for the Promotion of Science offers the JSPS Summer Program for Canadian graduate students and postdocs to visit a Japanese university or research institute for 2 months (June to August). JSPS covers travel expenses and provides an allowance. It’s a great opportunity to see Japan and conduct research with experts abroad. The deadline for Summer 2026 is Dec. 3. ACT: Career Support for Students with DisabilitiesThrough Accessible Career Transitions (ACT), Career Services offers specialized career-readiness programming for students who identify as having a disability. Meet with an ACT Advisor to receive individualized, adapted and ongoing guidance from a strengths-based approach. Topics addressed during ACT Advising appointments and resources provided to students may include career exploration, job search and networking strategies as well as resume and interview preparation. ACT Advising is available to current students by appointment only. Students must first be registered with ACT to book an appointment. To register, please complete the registration form.

Exam Schedule Now AvailableThe fall 2025 final exam schedule is now available. You can find the schedule on the Scheduling and Examination Services website, through your Carleton360 account and the Carleton Mobile app. The final exam period will take place Dec. 8 to Dec. 20. Examinations are normally held all seven days of the week.

Canada Foundation for Innovation Awards $1.2 Million to Carleton University ResearchersNine Carleton University researchers have received new funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation’s (CFI) John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF). The projects focus on a range of topics, including solutions for plastic pollution, mental health, heritage conservation and sonic arts. The CFI JELF funds state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to mobilize knowledge, spur innovation and commercialization, and empower the talented minds of a new generation. The total of $1,262,931 awarded by CFI will contribute to projects totalling over $3.3 million to provide the equipment necessary for driving forward research development. The CFI funding represents up to 40 per cent of the total, with additional funds anticipated from the Ontario Research Fund and other sources. |
Carleton Researchers Win buildingSMART International Award for Digital Twin ProjectA team of researchers with the Carleton Immersive Media Studio (CIMS) have won a 2025 buildingSMART International (bSI) award in the Professional Research category for their project, An Integrated Open-Source Digital Twin Platform for Federal Built Assets in Canada. This marks the first win for a Canadian organization at the bSI awards. As a top authority on the digital transformation of the built environment, bSI develops and maintains open standards for Building Information Modelling (BIM). |
