The General Church Board has authorised the establishment of a fund to support key mission culture and activities that might be utilised across the LCANZ, with initial funding of $400,000 per annum and an anticipated launch date in early 2025. While the mission fund will be administered by the Churchwide Office, this will be a collaborative approach involving representatives of districts, congregations and agencies. The aim will be to enhance and equip mission culture across the entire LCANZ. Read more To share this eNews with your congregation, Staff, students and directors of Australian Lutheran College on Sunday joined LCANZ representatives and members of St Michael’s congregation at Hahndorf in South Australia to welcome Rev Dr Tim Stringer as the college’s new principal. A recording of the service is available to view online. It was a case of all creatures great and small, as hundreds of beloved pets descended upon Tatachilla Lutheran College, south of Adelaide, for the college’s much-anticipated annual ‘Blessing of the Animals’ ceremony. Conducted in remembrance of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology, the event has become a highlight of the year. This followed the call for models from across the church in June 2023. You can provide your feedback directly from the webpages. Feedback on the frameworks is due by Friday 23 February 2024. Explore the frameworks: General Synod lay delegate details and proposals due 31 March Parishes must have elected their delegate/s for the 2024–27 synodical period and returned the appointment form to the Secretary of the Church by 31 March 2024. Proposals to General Synod must be submitted no later than 31 March 2024 using the proposal template.
