Dear Resident and Family Members,

Update for Residents and Families of Calvary Cooinda: COVID-19 outbreak declared over

I am very pleased to inform you that no additional cases of COVID-19 have been detected amongst residents and staff  at Calvary Cooinda in the testing conducted over the weekend.

In line with Public Health Unit advice, the initial exposure at Calvary Cooinda can now be declared over. We look forward to welcoming visitors back into the home from tomorrow, 15 February.

Updated information for visitors

  • Calvary Cooinda is open to visitors from tomorrow 15 February 2022.
  • Consistent with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care, there is now no limit to the number of visitors allowed per resident, per day.

  • Visitors will be required to complete screening requirements prior to entry and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) whilst visiting. Calvary will provide any PPE needed.
  • As a precaution to keeping residents safe, visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home. This takes time, and we ask for your patience as we manage this important screening process.
  • Visiting hours are from 11am – 4pm, seven days a week. This relates to visitors’ arrival on site. Once inside, visitors may stay longer. Should you need to visit outside these hours, you will need to book your visit with the home by contacting 6572 1537 during business hours. This is to ensure the right staff are available to complete the required screening processes.
  • If you have any questions please speak with the home manager.

Our staff will continue to closely monitor all residents for symptoms of COVID-19.

We are very grateful to our residents and families for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time, and very much look forward to receiving visitors back into the home.

You can help us by sharing this information with your family and friends.

Sincerely,

Sandeep Kandel
General Manager Aged Care
