As is customary, congregations are invited to contribute to the General Synod offering. Read more The Convention of General Synod in Adelaide next month will highlight LCANZ members’ hearts for reaching their local communities with the gospel, as local mission endeavours take centre stage on day 1 at the triennial event. Read more With many LCANZ pastors attending General Pastors Conference and General Synod in suburban Adelaide from later this month, congregations across the church will be able to hear the sermons prepared for Sunday worship at the churchwide gatherings. Read more Convention to be streamed online The LCANZ's Convention of General Synod, to be held from 4 to 7 October at Concordia College SA, will be streamed online via the General Synod website. The link will be published prior to the event. General Synod Book of Reports now available online The Book of Reports is the essential guidebook for delegates attending the LCANZ's Convention of General Synod next month. It contains proposals that will come before Synod (including the Way Forward Detailed Framework proposal), reports from the Office of the Bishop and the boards and auxiliaries of the church, election information, and agenda and conduct of business documents. It is available for viewing and downloading from the Synod website as an entire publication, individual items of business, or zipped folders of the various sections. All members of the church may download the Book of Reports. GPC opening service All LCANZ members and friends are welcome to attend the General Pastors Conference opening worship service at 9.30am on Sunday 29 September at Concordia College chapel, Highgate SA. Delegate webinar recordings available All members of the church are invited to watch recordings of three General Synod delegate webinars, the last of which was held on 11 September. The recordings are available here. Synod attendance confirmations closed The confirmation of attendance site for General Synod has now closed. Visitors who have not confirmed their attendance will be unable to view proceedings from the onsite visitor centre or receive meals during the churchwide event in suburban Adelaide. Thousands of people have engaged with the Way Forward project’s face-to-face and online district information gatherings around the LCANZ, the final three of which are being held in New Zealand over the next week. When Australian Lutheran World Service Executive Director Michael Stolz attended the opening of a women's conference in Papua New Guinea recently, he wasn't expecting the announcement made by the chief of the host tribe, who said they would be honoured if Michael accepted their prize pig!
