It’s been a busy start to the year for many of you and, with restrictions gradually easing, it looks like many of you are going to continue to be busy. ![]() Updates![]() I have been invited to give evidence to the Constitution, Europe, External Affairs and Culture Committee on the Scottish Government’s Spending Review. In particular, I have been asked to speak about how budgetary decisions can support the mainstreaming of culture across the Scottish Government, including the impact on health and wellbeing. I’d really like to hear your views on this and hear about examples of best practice or particular issues. I have created a survey that will be open until next Tuesday. If you’d like to read more about the committee, including papers relating to the spending review, see here. ![]() During March (Scottish Tourism Month) we will be hosting a series of conversations focussing on Community-led Tourism in Scotland. I’ll share more information with you soon. The international ViSEnet-team has gathered learning resources and best practices in an online free guide dedicated to rural social entrepreneurs. See more on the Rural SE Hub- The Rural Social Enterprise Guidebook of Good PracticeCovid-19 Protection Measures Survey- This short survey asks a few questions about your experiences of coronavirus measures. It asks what you have found easy and what you have found difficult, and it asks for your thoughts on the year ahead. The 2022 Analytical Exchange Programme invites bids from voluntary organisations in Scotland for very short sharp projects (anything from an afternoon up to 10 person days) where statistical or analytical skills could make a difference to your organisation. Read more here. Tourism & HeritageHistoric Environment Scotland (HES) is planning to launch a new Heritage & Place Programme on 30 March. This programme will replace and build on the success of their Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) funding programme. An overview of the Heritage & Place Programme can be found here and the full programme guidance and information about the application process will be published on the HES website on 30 March 2022. Scotland’s Viewpoint is a new, regular survey of 1,000 Scots – statistically representative of the Scottish adult population. It is conducted online over the course of 3 days. The first wave of the survey ran from over the weekend of 14th-17th January and future waves will be run at least quarterly.
